Ally TLA APN

Ally Ward

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Ally is a neonatal nurse practitioner with over 15 years experience caring for infants in the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Ally is also the mother of fraternal twin boys, who were born 10 weeks premature after an extensive infertility journey. Her experience as a nurse practitioner and a parent have given her a unique perspective on the intersection of healthcare and parenting.

Performing helicopter transport of critically ill infants has been one of Ally's most valuable experiences as this has allowed her to build relationships with individuals and families under extraordinary and complex circumstances. Ally has been a member of a wide variety of healthcare, non-profit and business entities and has acted as a conduit between physician and family-centered care teams. She is passionate about providing quality care to ensure that families have the best possible healthcare outcomes and parenting experiences. Ally is most interested in helping families meet their personal, family, and professional goals during the transition into parenthood. Ally’s greatest professional passion is providing families with the tools and information they need to make safe and healthy choices for their babies.

Since founding This Little Adventure, Ally has provided an essential healthcare and wellness lens to both individual and corporate clients. Her background ensures that clients receive best-practice healthcare information that is then applied to all decisions surrounding support for individuals considering or transitioning to parenthood. this little adventure refers to the type of support that emerging families need as healthcare adjacent care.

Ally received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University with a focus on sociology, family studies and public health. She also holds a degree in respiratory therapy. Ally completed her Master’s level training and nurse practitioner program at Rush University in Chicago. Ally lives in Chicago with her husband, 2 boys and a very energetic rat terrier named Stella. she is an avid (and slow) runner who enjoys hiking and exploring national parks with her family. Her greatest parenting challenge is developing the skill of emotional regulation when both of her boys are talking at the same time. This is a work on progress.
